This Polish Blood-and-Guts Slasher Flick For Gore Fans Is Now On Netflix

Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight is a new film directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski, written by Kowalski along with Jan Kwieciński and Mirella Zaradkiewicz.

The plot of the film is that every year teens in Poland are sent to a technology free camp, called Adrenaline which is in the middle of a forest. Basically their addiction is technology so the sole purpose for them to go to the camp is to stay away from their phones.

After handing in their cell phones and computers, they are divided into groups. One of these will be made up of Zosia (Julia Wieniawa-Narkiewicz), Julek (Michael Lupa), Aniela (Wiktoria Gąsiewska), Bartek (Stanislaw Cywka) and Daniel (Sebastian Dela).

Five very different teenagers – from the reserved Zosia to the know-it-all Daniel, passing through the uninhibited Aniela – who will have Iza (Gabriela Muskala) as their guide for their adventure, who will help them forget the internet and social networks while camping. Between other characters there’s a priest (Piotr Cyrwus) and an old man (Miroslaw Zbrojewicz).

The film makes it clear since the beginning that there is a terrible threat inside a house deep into the forest. Kowalski’s skillful use of natural settings, gives the forest in which the events take place a slightly sinister air. Also, the soundtrack of Radzimir Debski takes an important part of the film.

So, Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight  uses the forest to ignite chaos, giving the characters space to be separated and experience the incoming violence at different times. The movie enjoys the usual tropes, and most of the events are predictable.

The film is obviously inspired in American films, such as the classic Friday the 13th and its Jason Voorhees. The movie only seeks to entertain the older public and any fan of the horror genre.

Don’t get us wrong, the movie is fine, but there’s not much to get excited about. It’s a horror movie as it is. What we have seen before in any old horror movie and if you’re a gore fan, maybe you’ll like this one, as it is present along the movie in generous doses.

The film remains somewhere between the prudent deaths that characterized the mid-90s slasher that emerged after ‘Scream’ with the greatest savagery of the 80s. The film is a peculiar bet but one that ends up being effective.

Horror is sometimes just that, horror. So if you want to see a slasher that is going to give you what you expect from a production like this but with small distinctions, ‘Nobody sleeps in the woods tonight’ is your movie. It was released on Netflix on October 28, 2020.

Priest Who Blesses Annabelle: “You Can Feel The Devil Next To The Doll”

Annabelle, the doll that inspired horror movies, is truly cursed according to Canadian priest Platon Angelakis, who blesses her twice a month.

Angelakis was ordained an Orthodox Catholic priest with the Oblates of St. Teresa, Wisconsin, in 1999. He is also an active member of the American Exorcist Association since 2013.

He was interviewed via Zoom by La Teja, a Costa Rican newspaper, along with Keeyah Lynn (46), his assistant. She used to be a witch, but is now a sister ordained by the Order of Saint Michael along with the Catholic Church in Canada.

As you may know, Annabelle was a gift from a mother to her 18-year-old daughter, Donna, who left home to study nursing at university in 1970.

Donna shared a room with another student named Angie and they both began to experience strange things.

Annabelle would appear in different positions every single day. Donna assured that there were occasions when the doll would wake up in other rooms of the university headquarters.

Later, at Donna and Angie’s room would appear notes with weird messages as asking for help.

On one occasion Donna found a small trace of apparent blood under , the doll so she looked for a medium who told them that the spirit of a seven year old girl named Annabelle Higgins had owned the doll. It is assumed that the girl had passed away in that place, hence, she possesed the doll.

A friend of Donna’s named Lou used to visit her frequently and had asked her to throw the doll on many occasions. One time, he fell asleep in the room where the doll was and suddenly he woke up unable to move. Lou claimed that Annabelle tried to strangle him and squeezed his neck so hard he passed out and woke up until the next day.

He thought, he had a bad dream so he kept going to Donna’s place but on another occasion he heard sounds in a room where there was no one but the doll. He walked over to her and suddenly he felt someone behind him and without any explanation, seven scratches appeared on his chest, which healed completely the next day.

Donna called a number of people from her church to help her and that’s how they contacted the Warrens, who were already famous for paranormal issues.

The Warrens investigated the case and concluded that the possession was actually the work of a demon.

The couple took a priest to clean the place and the doll was taken away to avoid someone to get hurt.

From that moment the paranormal events in Donna’s life ended.

According to the newspaper, when Angelakis was asked if the story of the doll was true he answered “Yes, it is true and yes, it is cursed”.

He was also questioned about how he felt whenever he was around the doll, “Strange, very strange. Uncomfortable, creepy. The atmosphere is heavy, one realizes that there are very negative vibrations there. You can feel the devil next to the doll,” he replied.

The priest also proceed to explain why Annabelle, if being possessed, is unable to get out of the small wooden and glass urn she is captived.

“Because the box is blessed, it has water, oil and blessed crucifixes around it. Nobody touches that box without having their hands soaked in holy water.” he said, “It is not a box that moves a lot, in fact, hardly anyone touches it and it is always in the museum. Annabelle is not an object for everyone to see, it is a diabolical object and that is why it needs to be in a blessed cage”, he added.

Meanwhile Lynn said that every time she visits Annabelle she leaves loaded with bad vibes and demons.

“So much so that a friend of mine was already affected by one and on one occasion, when I got home, my son began to vomit without stopping,” said Lynn.

Vera Farmiga Shared Her Haunting Experienced While Shooting The Conjuring

There are many stories of films that are considered cursed, especially horror movies. Actress Vera Farmiga, who plays Lorraine Warren, experienced herself paranormal events while filming The Conjuring. The film is based on real events, the Warren marriage existed, as well as the museum in which the cursed objects that they contained are located.

The Conjuring tells the story of the Perron family, and how they must deal with a demonic entity that is living in their house, so they look for the help of the demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Before filming began, Farmiga met director James Wan during pre-production to talk about how she was going to portray the character of Lorraine.

But before the meeting, she was checking some things on her personal computer and then closed it off. After talking to James and confirming that she would accept the role, she opened her laptop again to continue investigating about the Warrens and found a scratch on the screen like a three-claw mark.

This inexplicable event happened again several months later, on the day that filming ended. But this time the mark appeared on one of her thighs. Vera described them as long claw marks, or large fingerprints.

In a video in which she is with the real Lorraine, shared the photo of her scratch. This astonished the psychic and told her that she should have poured holy water.

What happened with Vera has no logical explanation. How her personal computer got that mark or how can such scratch appear on the actress’s body just like that? We will never know. Here, you can watch the video when she shared about her  haunting experience.
