According To Stephen King, These Are A-Must-Watch Netflix Series!

Looking for some recommendations about what to watch next weekend? Who’s better for that task but the King of Horror? Yes, we are talking about Stephen King.  For a while now, the prolific author has been recommending on his Twitter account some horror movies and series he has watched himself.

King has created some of the most popular horror characters and stories so we should trust in his words that these movies and series are a must to watch.

To the Lake

The author recommended this Russian horror series that came to Netflix not so long ago.

Dark

The German series that aired for 3 seasons is probably the best foreign content on Netflix and received the recognition from Mr. King.

In case you haven’t watched it, if Mr. King recommended it, now it’s the perfect time to do it. He also added to check MetaWitches so you don’t get lost in between episodes.

Reckoning

This series comes from Australia, which was presented in a single limited series. It explores the darkest corners of the male psyche through the eyes of two fathers, one of whom is a serial-killer.

The Stranger

Harlan Coben’s works have now been adapted twice on Netflix and The Stranger received the approval of Stephen King several months after release. He didn’t need to say much to convince us.

Have you watched them before? Which one are you watching this weekend?

You’ll need to have a good stomach to watch this one.

Underrated Horror Movies To Watch On Hulu Right Now

There are many well-known horror movies available to stream, but to save you sometime finding ones that you probably haven’t seen but are really worth watching. Here is a list of some movies to watch on Hulu.

The Clovehitch Killer (2018)

The movie is set 10 years after a rash of similarly styled murders hit a small Kentucky town. Tyler Burnside is a Boy Scout and the dutiful son of an upstanding, community leader dad. Only one thing troubles again the quiet Kentucky town he lives in: the unsolved murders that with unrelenting tension, director Duncan Skiles crafts a picture-perfect vision of the all-American family-and then piece by piece rips it to shreds.

The Lodge (2019)

The Lodge centers around two children accompany their father and their new stepmom to a remote cabin for Christmas as a “bond trip” but nature and nurture conspire against that intention as an aggressive snowstorm stands in the way, locking the children and stepmom together. It’s one of the best horror movies Hulu has at the moment as discomfort turns to panic, which turns to desperation, which turns to madness.

Goodnight Mommy (2015)

Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz, the writer/director team who made The Lodge, deserves more recognition. This story about two young brothers and their mother is set on a remote farm. As the mother returns from the hospital with bandages on her head, paranoia begins to grow between the brothers that she might be plotting against them.

This Austrian movie didn’t receive a wide U.S. release back in 2015 but Fiala and Franz will definitely plant this movie in your brain.

Southbound (2016)

It tells several interlinking stories set in the foreboding Southwestern desert, and it’s one of the very best out there if we may say. It was directed by Radio Silence, Roxanne Benjamin, David Bruckner and Patrick Horvath. Everything revolves around some travelers who, in the middle of the night and in the middle of a desert road, begin to suffer from exhaustion. The different members of the group will be forced to deal with their worst nightmares and their most hidden secrets.

Oculus (2013)

In a house full of cameras and timers, the desperate woman and her brother spend one last night documenting the house. Insidious 5 Has Been Confirmed As A Direct Sequel To Insidious 2 With Original Cast Returning

Great news for horror fans as Blumhouse Productions gave the green light to start part five of the Insidious franchise.

The studio also said the new film will star Patrick Wilson, who was featured in the first two installments. Also, for this occasion, he got the position of project director. Wilson made his debut with the franchise back in 2010 in the role of Josh Lambert. He came back in Insidious: Chapter 2 in 2013 and Insidious: The Last Key in 2018.

The actor is an icon of horror cinema as he is also one of the main characters in the The Conjuring.

“I’m honored and thrilled to be at the helm of the next Insidious installment, which will provide an amazing chance to unpack everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the consequences of their choices,” Wilson shared in a statement according to ComicBook.

“Directing the movie is both professionally and personally a full-circle moment for me, and I am extremely grateful to be entrusted in continuing to tell this frightening and haunting story” he added.

First debuting in 2010, the Insidious franchise became one of the markers of the “Blumhouse model” of feature filmmaking, low-cost productions aiming for high returns. The project was announced during Blumhouse’s BlumFest, a virtual event covering a number of the studio’s exciting projects.

“One of the primary reasons the interest and appetite from fans has lasted for Insidious is because the people involved in the first film have stayed involved and kept it vital, interesting, and good,” Blumhouse founder Jason Blum shared. “I’m so grateful to our collaborators on the franchise.”

Insidious tells the story of the Lambert family, made up of a married couple and their three children, who move into a huge and beautiful house, where one of their children, Dalton, inexplicably ends up in a coma, which would start a terrible nightmare full of supernatural beings.

For this upcomming project, Scott Teems has written the script which is based on a story by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. The sequel will take place 10 years later, when the Lamberts send Dalton (Ty Simpkins) to college.

The project will hit theaters sometime in 2022.

She finds herself more content in the company of horses and supernatural crime shows than people. The other cast members include John Reynolds as Darren, Molly Shannon as Joan, John Ortiz as Ron, Jay Duplass as Ethan and Paul Reiser as Gary.

Baena told Decider in a recent phone interview how he felt about this project, “I’ve never really had an opportunity to do something like this, I feel like most of my movies are, for the most part, pretty straight-forward. But this movie, in particular, is a puzzle”

Nick Allen of RogerEbert.com reviewed the film and described that “The sincerity that Brie brings to her full-fledged embodiment of mental illness is major, and in turn helps Horse Girl overcome its tricky storytelling.”

10 Shocking And Eerie Ghost Pictures And Their Stories

If you are a lover of the paranormal and don´t want to sleep tonight, we recommend that you see these shocking and terrifying images of ghosts and the stories behind them …

Intruder at the wedding

This picture was taken back in 2008 in Hertfordshire, England, by Neil Sandbach. He was touring at a beautiful farm and looking for a wedding venue, but everything changed when he saw the ghost of this child. After questioning the property owners and staff, he quickly changed his mind and decided this was not the place for him after confirming that the ghost often wandered around the place.

Curtis Johnston

After taking a look at this photo of Corey Carlsonn, it is pretty clear that there’s a spirit on the left. He decided to share with his Instagram followers about who this woman was. “For those of you who saw this photo of me, this is the lady who disappeared in this house back in 2001, her name was Curtis Johnston.” Although the ghost in the photo was identified, what remains a mystery is knowing exactly what happened to her.

The chair of agony

Ted Lucher, was an engineer who went to the prison to repair the electric chair that belonged to the state of Tennessee, he took a picture of the chair. He later realized a ghost hand can be seen on the armrest, as well as a face of agony.

Strange walk at the park

Their calm night out took a twist after this chilling photo. When the picture was taken, one of them reported feeling a presence on her left side moments early. The picture would reveal later that there was a presence there at the moment they took it. It remains a mystery who could have that been, but what we know for sure is that they captured an actual ghost on picture.

When the soul leaves the body

This photo was taken a couple of hours before this man passed away. As he rested on his hospital bed, strange auras could be seen fluttering around his body. These three bright clouds of light are part of what can be called ascension or the moment when the soul leaves the body. While this is not something that has been proven and there is no definitive explanation for the orbs of light, there is obviously something mystical going on here.

Passenger in the back seat

This photo was taken by Mrs. Mabel Chinnery in 1959 while visiting a cemetery. Ms. Mabel Chinnery went to her car when she saw that her husband was already in the car all alone waiting for her. She decided to take a picture of him. However he was not alone in the car. Once they revealed the picture, they noticed a blurred figure of another man’s head.

Uninvited guest

This photo was taken in 1985 at St. Mary’s Guildhall, Coventry, England, which was once a prison. The story behind this pic is that it was taken during Masons’ dinner when they were about to say their prayer before meal. In the picture, a robed man can be seen bowing with the rest of the guests, but when everyone was asked if they had seen him, people said they didn’t remember him being there. Nobody recognized him so it’s still a mystery his identity.

Devotee ghost

In 1975, a man and his wife attended Mass at Worstead Church in Norfolk, U.K. As the wife sat and silently prayed on the bench, her husband took this strange photo of her. It seems that the woman wasn’t alone at all, as she is accompanied by a kind of glowing figure sitting in the row behind her. Although there is no clear explanation of what the figure could have been, it seems that it could have been a good spirit considering that this took place in a church.

Don’t take it

This lady took this photo in the basement of her new home. But once she saw it, she had no doubts that the house was in fact haunted. She claimed that two days before she took the picture, she had heard her 4-year-old brother at the basement yelling “No, don’t take it” when he was supposed to be alone. Perhaps what the boy saw was this mysterious figure too.

Seeing the light

In this picture,  there’s also a man on his deathbed and some light above him. Some parapsychologists claim this is the only type of proof they need to solidify theories that explain how auras and bodily energies work after passing away.

What do you think about the pictures? Have you captured a moment like this?
