Antrum: the cursed movie that causes death to those who see it

The film has an evil past and made it disappear after many deaths. However, it resurfaced and they plan to re-launch it.

Several films originated malign legends that relate tragedies like unexpected deaths, catastrophic accidents and other inexplicable events, which usually generate a marked sense of fear in many spectators.

Interestingly, some are linked to the genres of terror and suspense. Is it a coincidence? Let’s see: “Poltergeist”, “The prophecy”, “The exorcist”, “Rosemary’s baby” and The Raven” are some of the many movies that are observed for leaving alarming sequels.

However, perhaps there is another that is really cursed and will be relaunched in brevity. The mention is for “Antrum: The Deadliest Film Ever Made”, which was co-directed by the Canadian David Amito and the American Michael Laicini. The performance, which dates back to the 1970s, disappeared shortly after its release, before reappearing unexpectedly in 1988.

After screening at a film festival in Budapest (Hungary), the cinemas-theaters burned down and several of those present lost their life in mysterious circumstances. Years later, there was a kind of rebellion in a room in San Francisco, where Antrum was casually projected, and due to the chaos that was generated, which generated incidents among those present, the only physical copy of the film disappeared.

With such a story, it seemed that the one on Californian soil culminated a series of nefarious events … But no, it will continue in circulation, because like many other things, it returns.

The reason? It will be presented at the International Fantastic Film Festival in Brussels (Belgium), at the end of April, and it has already been announced that it will be released in cinemas at the end of this year in several European countries, and globally by 2020.

The most incredible is that, given the accumulated bad reputation, warns that as the film could cause death, which is already scary enough, in addition to its projection is passed a brief introduction that includes a disclaimer of liability, for those who are sufficiently brave enough to sit and watch her.

The plot is about a brother and sister who venture into a forest to find their way to hell, with the intention of saving the soul of their dog recently deceased. In addition to the plot, the film also features documentary style statements and information about enigmatic events that occurred in relation to the story, as well as debates about occultism.

The director and producer Eric Thirteen was the one who found the film last October, while attending the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.

“There he was … Normally, everyone is promoting their projects, it’s very easy to talk to people about what is being shown, and yet, even though they were projecting it, I could not get anyone to tell me what the hell there was happened with this film that everyone talks about, that’s when I had to see it, a film that is not being projected anywhere else, that does not have records on the Internet, about which nothing can be found, “he said.

The director added: “Originally, it was in Arabic and then it was lost for years and it got back in. It has all these notes where someone tried to translate it, but maybe it was an unfortunate attempt because they died in the process. There are notes scribbled in the margins and every time the film is lost and recovered, new mosaic pieces are added”.

And if thinking that the movie could finish you is not scary enough, there is a brief introduction that includes a disclaimer for those who are brave enough to see it.

Will you dare to see the movie, being the victim of the curse? What you think?
