Underrated Horror Movies To Watch On Hulu Right Now

There are many well-known horror movies available to stream, but to save you sometime finding ones that you probably haven’t seen but are really worth watching. Here is a list of some movies to watch on Hulu.

The Clovehitch Killer (2018)

The movie is set 10 years after a rash of similarly styled murders hit a small Kentucky town. Tyler Burnside is a Boy Scout and the dutiful son of an upstanding, community leader dad. Only one thing troubles again the quiet Kentucky town he lives in: the unsolved murders that with unrelenting tension, director Duncan Skiles crafts a picture-perfect vision of the all-American family-and then piece by piece rips it to shreds.

The Lodge (2019)

The Lodge centers around two children accompany their father and their new stepmom to a remote cabin for Christmas as a “bond trip” but nature and nurture conspire against that intention as an aggressive snowstorm stands in the way, locking the children and stepmom together. It’s one of the best horror movies Hulu has at the moment as discomfort turns to panic, which turns to desperation, which turns to madness.

Goodnight Mommy (2015)

Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz, the writer/director team who made The Lodge, deserves more recognition. This story about two young brothers and their mother is set on a remote farm. As the mother returns from the hospital with bandages on her head, paranoia begins to grow between the brothers that she might be plotting against them.

This Austrian movie didn’t receive a wide U.S. release back in 2015 but Fiala and Franz will definitely plant this movie in your brain.

Southbound (2016)

It tells several interlinking stories set in the foreboding Southwestern desert, and it’s one of the very best out there if we may say. It was directed by Radio Silence, Roxanne Benjamin, David Bruckner and Patrick Horvath. Everything revolves around some travelers who, in the middle of the night and in the middle of a desert road, begin to suffer from exhaustion. The different members of the group will be forced to deal with their worst nightmares and their most hidden secrets.

Oculus (2013)

Oculus stars Karen Gillan as Kaylie, who launches a mission to prove that her whole family’s demise was caused by an antique mirror. In a house full of cameras and timers, the desperate woman and her brother spend one last night documenting the house. Oculus was co-written and directed by Mike Flanagan, very well-known for Netflix’s Haunting of Hill House so you can have an idea that this movie actually is worth watching.
