Looking for some recommendations about what to watch next weekend? Who’s better for that task but the King of Horror? Yes, we are talking about Stephen King. For a while now, the prolific author has been recommending on his Twitter account some horror movies and series he has watched himself.
King has created some of the most popular horror characters and stories so we should trust in his words that these movies and series are a must to watch.
To the Lake
The author recommended this Russian horror series that came to Netflix not so long ago.
TO THE LAKE, a pretty darn good Russian series on Netflix. Four things to know:
1. There's a plague.
2. There's lots of snow and cold (Russia, stupid).
3. Everybody drinks vodka.
4. Weak-ass spoiler alert: the little kid is a pain in the ass.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) October 11, 2020
Dark
The German series that aired for 3 seasons is probably the best foreign content on Netflix and received the recognition from Mr. King.
In case you haven’t watched it, if Mr. King recommended it, now it’s the perfect time to do it. He also added to check MetaWitches so you don’t get lost in between episodes.
DARK (Netflix) is dark and complex…and…well…very German. Terrific show. If you get confused, go to MetaWitches and check out Metacrone's recaps. Detailed and helpful.

Reckoning
This series comes from Australia, which was presented in a single limited series. It explores the darkest corners of the male psyche through the eyes of two fathers, one of whom is a serial-killer.
RECKONING (Netflix): A pretty good 10-episode limited series. Fine mystery plot generates bursts of maximum suspense. As a bonus, it's a master class in how not to parent.

The Stranger
Harlan Coben’s works have now been adapted twice on Netflix and The Stranger received the approval of Stephen King several months after release. He didn’t need to say much to convince us.
THE STRANGER, on Netflix: Excellent mystery. Addictive.
