Grab a drink at New Orleans oldest bar and if you’re lucky enough, you will see ghosts

Going out and grabbing a drink at a bar is one of the most common and popular activities to interact with people, just mingling around and chatting, but what would you think about doing the same with a ghost? If this idea sounds endearing, then New Orleans is the place for you to be.

New Orleans is a lively city with plenty of beautiful sightseeing spots, but it’s also very popular for having an enchanting dark side to it, which invites all the mystery enthusiasts to come to visit.

One of the most popular spots of this spooky city are the haunted bars, which claim to be home of several paranormal activities.

A bar located in the French Quarter has become a piece of history for New Orleans, the Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar. The building itself has been around approximately since the 1700s, but as years passed by it became a popular bar with a unique atmosphere takes you back in time and doors are opened not only to humans but also to other spirits.

The Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar remains one of the antique surviving structures from New Orleans, due to its warm vibe, this bar is graced by thousands of customers and it is even rumored that many of them still visit the place, in the form of ghosts.

With a somewhat ghostly atmosphere, this bar sets the perfect mood for telling spooky stories and grabbing a good drink. So what makes this bar so mysterious? It has to be its background story.

Almost 300 years back, this building was inhabited by the Lafitte brothers: Jean a French pirate and privateer, and Pierre a privateer from the 19th-century although this building was not a bar back then at all, but something darker.

Some clients said they’ve seen Jean Lafitte standing on one of the corners of his beloved building, staring silently at the people back in the shadows, but be careful if he catches you glimpsing at him… he will disappear.

Even though the spirits of the Lafitte brothers have the right to hang around their place, this bar is known for attracting more than these two ghosts.

Some of the stories that are told around say that the fireplace from this bar is a specific spot where all kinds of paranormal phenomenons happen. Paranormal investigators presume that this area is home of a demonic spirit and some clients even believe they have seen a pair of red eyes staring at them, right from the fireplace.

Do you have the guts to visit the Lafitte Brothers? maybe you will be lucky enough to catch one of them, standing on a shadowy corner.
