Blumhouse, the production company founded by Jason Blum is known mainly for producing horror films, such as Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Get Out, The Purge, and many more.
Back in the fall of 2018, Amazon Studios announced a partnership with Blumhouse, for a series of eight new horror films set to debut on Amazon Prime.
A first teaser for the horror collection titled, “Welcome to the Blumhouse” has been released in which we can see some glimpses of each of the first four films set to launch next month. The films have in common themes of family and love as well as redemptive or destructive forces.
“We are excited to launch ‘Welcome to the Blumhouse’ with this exhilarating and provocative slate of original films for the first time ever on Prime Video. This collection from diverse and emerging filmmakers was a thrill to put together with our wonderful partners at Blumhouse Television,” said Julie Rapaport, Co-Head of Movies for Amazon Studios.
“These chilling stories have something for everyone – ready to fright and delight genre fans and newcomers alike – and we are excited to share them with our global Prime Video customers.”

The first four movies will arrive in October just in time for Halloween. Two of them will hit on October 6.
THE LIE: It tells the story of a married couple that tries to cover up their teenage daughter who took the life of her best friend. The film will star by Mireille Enos (The Killing), Peter Sarsgaard (An Education) and Joey King (The Act), and directed by Veena Sud (The Killing).
BLACK BOX: After being involved in an accident and losing his wife, a man who also lost his memory, agrees to an experimental treatment that goes very wrong. Starring Mamoudou Athie (Jurassic World 3) and Phylicia Rashad (Creed) and directed by Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour Jr. (Born with It).
The other two entries will arrive a week later, on October 13.
EVIL EYE: Based off the award-winning, best-selling Audible Original production from writer Madhuri Shekar, it tells the story of a mother who believes that her daughter’s boyfriend is connected to her dark past, which will bring terrible consequences. Starring Sarita Choudhury (Lady in the Water), Sunita Mani (GLOW), Omar Maskati (Unbelievable), and Bernard White (Silicon Valley). The film is irected by Elan Dassani and Rajeev Dassani (A Day’s Work) and produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
NOCTURNE: A young musician begins to outshine her twin sister after discovering a mysterious notebook (belonging to a dead student) increases her talent. This film is written and directed by Zu Quirke, as his first film and stars Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Madison Iseman (Anabelle Comes Home) and Jacques Colimon (The Society).
