Visit The Real Pet Sematary & Derry On This Stephen King Tour

Stephen King is well known for his power to instantly engross you into the horrific and the unknown. It is this unique ability that has made him one of the best-selling writers of our time selling over 350 million copies worldwide and earning him the distinguished title of Master of Horror.

In case you didn’t know, there’s an actual Stephen King tour, and you won’t find any other like this one in the world. If you are a King’s fan, this tour is for you, as it takes you to the places that he has lived and worked, places that have inspired his stories, and actual film locations from his movies.

The tour takes place in the town of Bangor Maine, which is the actual location for the fictional Derry in King’s “IT” and you’ll get to visit The Standpipe and Birdbath.

You’ll also visit the cemetery where Pet Sematary was actually filmed, and even Stephen King current residence. They do tours daily, all year round from early morning until afternoon.

The tour is hosted by Stuart Tinker, who is regarded as one of the experts on King lore and legends. The tour goes on for three hours and the tickets are priced at $50 per person and it will cover 30 locations.  If you want to plan on a visit, you can check out their site for bookings. There are still availability for Halloween!

The tour owners, Stuart and Penney said, “We have been Stephen King Fans since 1974 when Carrie was first published and have remained so ever since. In 1990, we bought Betts Bookstore and always kept a complete catalog of both Stephen and Tabitha’s works in stock in hardcover and paperback for 20 years. Because of the help that the Kings gave us, we became well known throughout the world as the place to go to for Stephen King items.

During the last 9 years that we owned the store, we were 100%, Stephen King. After selling the store, we decided to do Stephen King Tours here in “Derry”, something we had done for the SKEMERs originally years ago, and it has become a tremendous hit.”

Everything We Know About Hocus Pocus 2 So Far

Last year it was confirmed that a sequel for the 1993 Halloween classic was being developed by Disney+.

Jen D’ Angelo was hired to write the script for Hocus Pocus 2 and also had been tasked to find a way to include the original main cast, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy at the time.

The film was originally directed by Kenny Ortega, and told the story of a teen boy who moves to Salem with his family and struggles to fit in before awakening three witches known as the Sanderson Sisters. Throughout the years, Hocus Pocus has become something of a cult classic.

“I would like to see a sequel, and I think that the fans would like to see a sequel,” Ortega told ET at the time. “I think it would be much more fun to bring the ladies back. They’re all still vital and in their prime and capable of doing so much that it would be great to see Bette and Kathy and Sarah come back together to do another movie and I think they would like to.”

Early this year, Adam Shankman (Hairspray)  confirmed to be the director on Instagram.

He is currently working on another film for Disney, the Amy Adams-starring Enchanted sequel, Disenchanted.

“I feel incredibly honored and humbled to be guiding forward these two Disney crown jewel legacies. My only hope is to honor those who came before me and build something new and exciting, as I desperately try to not let down the fans and enchant the new initiates! Fingers crossed! Xo”, he expressed.

On Twitter, he added, “I hope to please all the loyal fans. That’s what I tried to do with Hairspray. That’s what my goal is here.”

Our favorite trio have yet to be officially confirmed for the sequel, though each has expressed interest in returning. In the meantime, they will virtually reunite for a good cause in October for “In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover.”

Hocus Pocus wouldn’t be the same without the original cast so let’s finger crossed to get these news anytime soon!

Don’t Breathe 2: Stephen Lang Confirms That He Has Already Shot His Part Of The Film

Don’t Breathe was released in 2016, produced and directed by Fede Álvarez. The film stars Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, and Stephen Lang, and focuses on three friends who get trapped inside a blind man’s house while breaking into it.

The film became one of the surprising horror hits of 2016, which led to the news of a sequel was being developed a while back, and when ScreenRant asked Stephen Lang who played the very deadly blind man in the first film, he replied, “Oh yeah, we’re doing a sequel.”

Now, Don’t Breathe 2, which is reportedly titled Don’t Breathe Again, lately, is currently in the works. Stephen Lang reported via twitter that he’s wrapped filming.

There are not many details  yet about the plot for the sequel, only that the film is being directed by Rodo Sayagues. Producer Sam Raimi is really excited about the project, telling IGN: “It’s only the greatest idea for a sequel I’ve ever heard. I’m not kidding.”

In that same interview, Álvarez added: “The challenge obviously is we just don’t want to do the same movie again and just have 2 in it. We’ll feel so embarrassed if we do that. At first our reaction when they told us was no no no no no that’s Hollywood, that’s the devil pushing us to do something just because we can. And then we had an idea that we got really excited about, we won’t tell you what it is, it’ll spoil the whole thing.”

Álvarez also said: “It’s exciting to see a character you want to see more out of it. At least I do. I’d love to see the blind man on the screen do some other things. What’s going to happen with him in his life?” This certainly indicates that Lang’s blind man character plays a major part, which brings us back to the start of this story: filming is either completed or close to it.

James Wan Reveals The Conjuring 2 Demon That Was Replaced for Valak the Nun

Director James Wan has shared via Instagram some exclusive images of the impressive demon that could have been the Warren’s nemesis in ‘The Conjuring 2″, before they decided to replace it with Valak. He created it together with designer Aaron Slims from a previous concept that was going to be used in his Castlevania movie. Wan says that The Conjuring 2 is “one of my personal fav. I focused on character-storytelling above anything else.”

“Here’s my first design of the demonic entity haunting the family and Lorraine. Aaron Sims (concept designer) and myself took inspiration from our Dracula design for a movie I was attached to a long time ago called Castlevania.” Even after they had an animatronic suit made, it was not to be as he explained.

Fractured FX built an awesome animatronic suit, and we were going to augment it with CGI wings. But alas, during editing, I deemed this beautifully designed/sculpted horned demon too out of left-field for the film. It needed to be more grounded and personal — something that would take Lorraine’s faith and try to test/corrupt it.

The director recalled some personal experiences that he had to give The Conjuring 2 the right touch. “I remember the real-life Lorraine Warren talking about her love and reverence for her nun friends, and a lightbulb went off,” says Wan. “Thus… the Demon Nun was born. So we went back and replaced all the Horned Demon with the Nun during additional photography. I call the last image Beauty and the Beast.”

Valak was never pictured as a nun, the demon is traditionally described as a child with angel wings that rides on a two-headed dragon but thanks to Wan and the crew that worked on the idea, Valak is now an iconic figure in the world of horror.

What do you think? Would you have preferred this version of Valak?

7 Creepy And Unexplainable Moments Caught On Camera

There are times in life, when we want to save a moment through a picture, so we take photos to keep those memories with us forever, however there are times that capturing a good time can turn into something unexplainable or creepy. Just take a look at the pictures below.

Creepy or cute?

There is no doubt that there’s a special bond between a mother and her daughter, but in this, it was literally out of this world. The child on the floor was playing with what seems to be a spirit that many believe to be the mother of the child who had passed away a few months before the photo was taken. We can’t define if this is a creepy or a sweet moment in which this mother came back from afterlife to play with her.

The bridge of unfortunate souls

The places where atrocious crimes have been committed are most likely to be haunted with the spirits of the victims. This bridge in Oak Grove Kentucky is no exception. It is said that a soldier took the life of his son and wife near this bridge. Some people claim to have seen the spirit of the woman walking on the bridge near the place where she passed away.

Room for 3

A couple visited the Worley Bed And Breakfast Inn in Dahlonega, Georgia in 1999. They thought they were going to have a quiet weekend getaway. But when they got to their room, they found an unexpected guest in their suite. In this picture, you can see the figure  lying on the bed and it looks like the ghost was actually having fun.

An afternoon at the cemetery

In 1973, a woman went to visit the grave of her daughter who had recently passed away. As the mother approached her grave, she saw the spirit of another child around her daughter’s tombstone. Fortunately enough, she was able to take a photo of the eerie moment. The mother claimed that the ghost she saw was not her daughter, so it must have been another child who wanted to play with her little girl.

Group photo

What started out as a harmless group photo soon turned into a very scary mess after these girls saw a strange face peeking between them. Many will say that this was manipulated with photoshop, but the three girls claim that they simply used a normal cell phone to take the photo and didn’t edit it at all. Since then, this strange silhouette among them remains a mystery.

Family photo

Long before people oftenly used to do professional photo shoots to hang on the walls of their homes just like this couple in the picture. However, there’s a third person who wasn’t part of the photoshoot. You can see the very clear figure of a mysterious woman floating above them. The couple claimed they had no idea who this woman could have been.

Hidden guest

This man looks very proud to stand in front of his new house, but he must not know that he is not the only one who will live there. In the window, you can see a figure standing there. While this ghost-like figure could be one of many things, it is said is the spirit of a woman who used to live in the house whose husband took her life in the wooded area behind the house.

Dave Franco’s Debut Horror Film Now Available On Amazon Prime

We are in the middle of October, which is a great time to binge-watch horror films all day and all night. Perhaps it may not going to be the best decision once you want to go to sleep but at least you’ll have more movies to add to your list. This time, we are going to talk about The Rental.

It was released some months ago and it’s produced and directed by Dave Franco (Now You See Me, 2013), in his directorial debut. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Swanberg  based on a story by both of them, together with Mike Demski.

The description of the film tells the story of “two couples looking to celebrate their seed money from a new business venture, embark on a weekend getaway to a seemingly perfect house they’ve booked online. But what begins as a festive weekend for the four close friends turns into something far more sinister as secrets they’ve kept from each other are exposed and paranoia grows that they may not be alone”.

Basically, this couple conformed by Charlie and Michelle decide to rent a house for a weekend getaway and invite Josh, Charlie’s brother, and his girlfriend Mina.  The group settles in a house facing the sea without paying much attention to the mysterious attitude of the owner of the house. They later realize that someone is actually stalking them.

It stars Alison Brie as Michelle (Dave Franco’s actual wife), Dan Stevens as Charlie, Sheila Vand as Mina, Jeremy Allen White as Josh and Toby Huss as Taylor.

The film was released on video-on-demand and in select theaters in the United States on July 24, 2020, by IFC Films. It received generally positive reviews from critics, just in Rotten Tomatoes, it held an approval rating of 75% based on 170 reviews. It also became the second film to ever top VOD charts and the box office in the same weekend.

In an interview with Forbes, Franco expressed why he chose the horror genre as his directorial debut. “I think most people know me from the comedies I’ve acted in, so everyone is surprised to hear that my directorial debut is a horror film. As a viewer, there’s nothing I enjoy more than a smart genre film,” he explained. “The horror genre tends to deal with extreme scenarios and emotions, which gave me the freedom to make bold choices and push boundaries wherever I could.”

He has also voiced his interest in a sequel, saying: “It was the intention from the beginning to leave the ending ambiguous enough that we carry on the story if given a chance… I have a very strong idea for what I would want to do with a sequel.”

The Rental is now available in Amazon Prime.

Make Some Popcorn And Enjoy These 6 Movies To Binge-Watch On Halloween

As we are facing a pandemic, maybe going outside on Halloween time just like we do every single year, may not be the best idea at the moment. So, have you already thought what to do that day instead? We recommend you to enjoy your night by binge-watching these movies below.

Under the skin (2014)

A science fiction fantasy in which everything from the music to the colors was designed to build up the tension. Here, Scarlett Johansson plays a mysterious woman who seduces men during the loneliest hours in Scotland, but she actually hides a darker and disturbing secret.

Melancholia (2011)

What makes this movie so terrible is its incredible visual beauty (from those opening credits to that dreamy end as it was out of a fantasy)  to the despair, depression, loneliness and selfishness portrayed to create a feeling that all is lost.

Sinister (2012)

There is nothing more disturbing than an evil child in a horror movie. The film follows the story of a crime perpetrator (Ethan Hawke) who moves with his family to a house where a grisly crime happened so that he can investigate the events up close and personal. But, when they find an old box of Super 8 movies in their attic, the family begins to personally experience those same events that seemed to be part of the original case, causing their life to take a wicked turn at the hands of their youngest son.

 Upstream Color (2012)

This movie makes you feel so terrified without using too obvious or extreme images, but always keeping the idea that something sinister is about to happen. It tells the story of a woman who, after losing her memory, meets a man with a similar story, and together they must figure out their identity and reality, which causes them and the audience themselves, a strong sense of paranoia and despair.

Thoroughbreds (2018)

The story follows Lily and Amanda, two friends who believe they are losing control of their lives and decide to develop a dark plan to free themselves and regain control, whatever that cost. But everything is a matter of perception and despair can turn anyone into a monster.

My mother’s eyes (2016)

This movie doesn’t seem very disturbing at first but that will change as the story keeps going and turns into a violent and disturbing story, where the worst actually happens off-camera. It follows a lonely young woman who makes her darkest desires to come true after a tragedy destroyed her life.
