‘The Haunting Of Hill House’ Director Will Be Working To Turn Stephen King’s Novel Into A Movie

Stephen King is not only one of the biggest horror writers in the history, but most of his works have been adapted into films, television series, miniseries, and comic books. His high standing in pop culture let us know that there is still a lot of material to adapt for those who enjoy his fearful stories jumping out from the pages of his books, up to the screens.

HBO recently adapted The Outsider (2018), to create one of the best horror series of the year. The novel tells the story of a murder that turns out to be much murky than it seemed. It’s considered by many to be one of King’s best new novels.

This time, his novel Revival (2014) is the one getting a movie. It is set in a small New England town and spans around five decades where a charismatic minister meets Jamie, a small boy that was playing with his toy soldiers.

Suddenly, a tragedy hits the boy’s family while the preacher mocks all religious belief and ends up being exiled. After a while, the boy becomes a musical nomad and an addict and meets the preacher again. But this time, they’ll face huge consequences.

According to Variety,  Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy who teamed up on the 2019 adaptation of King’s “Doctor Sleep”, will be working together again for the upcoming project. While Flanagan will be in charge of the script and direction, Macy will produce through Intrepid Pictures.

King’s horror novel received positive reviews, with many critics noting the book’s nods to classics of the horror genre, such as Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Arthur Machen’s The Great God Pan, and the cosmic-horror of H. P. Lovecraft.

Mike Flanagan is one of the best horror directors right now after Netflix’s ‘The Haunting of Hill House‘ series turned out as a massive success and that makes us believe that Revival could become another great adaptation.

According to Flanagan, the script will keep the “bleak and mean” approach to Revival, especially the novel’s disturbing ending.

He appeared on the Kingcast podcast to reveal how much “fun” he’s having with this new project. “It is relentlessly dark and cynical and I’m enjoying the hell out of that.”

He even confirmed that the first screenplay draft is complete and has King’s approval. “What I love about it is it’s a return to cosmic horror, which I think is so fun,” he explained.

As for King’s followers, they will be able to enjoy another piece of work turn into an adaptation. However, details about the filming, the cast or the releasing date are yet to be revealed.

This Is Netflix New Psychological Thriller That Will Play With Your Mind

Netflix is always working to bring new streaming content each year and they know quite well how to play its cards when it’s about horror or thriller films. This time, they released the first trailer for upcoming movie, I’m Thinking of Ending Things, a new project by one of the most celebrated screenwriters of his era, Charlie Kaufman.

Besides being the director, Charlie also wrote the script for the film. Kaufman has demonstrated before his astounding way of telling stories such as in Wanna Be John Malkovich (1999) by Spike Jonze or in the unforgettable Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind (2004) directed by Michel Gondry, which won Kaufman an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things is a psychological horror film based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Iain Reid. It tells the story of Cindy, a woman who is thinking of breaking the relationship that ties her to Jake. Meanwhile, he is about to take her to meet his parents.

While the situation is already complicated enough, a snowstorm would cause them to get trapped at the house where strange things start to happen that will turn everything into a crazy and scary adventure. Cindy will start to question everything she thought she knew about her boyfriend and even about herself.

The film, together with Kaufman was produced by Anthonu Bregman, Robert Salerno, Stefanie Azpiazu and is starring Jessie Buckley (Chernobyl, Wild Rose), Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, Black Mirror), Toni Collette (Hereditary, Knives Out), and David Thewlis (Harry Potter, Wonder Woman).

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the director spoke about his vision for the upcoming film.

“I’m not setting out to do something that ‘tops’ some sort of brainteaser I might have done before. But there’s no question that I’m trying to build on the stuff that I’ve already done,” Karman explained.

“Loneliness and hopelessness and regret — these are things that are part of the fabric of this film”.

You only need to see the newly released trailer to know that it will be one of Netflix’s best proposal for the remainder of 2020. The film will be hitting the streaming platform on September 4th.

According to the listing, organized by real estate agent William Surgeon, III, the 1.432-square-foot residence has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, including a remodeled master bath and a walk in closet. However, some interior features remain unchanged, including kitchen cabinets and counters.

The House now

On the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices listing notes, the house is part of the Carpenters Road community which includes a clubhouse, pool, playground, tennis court and basketball courts.

The residence sits in a real-life neighborhood, located at 1774 Tinsmith Circle, where Peg Boggs (played by Dianne Wiest) sold her Avon products in the film.

For many of us, this is our favorite time of the year. It’s never too early to start decorating for your favorite holidays. To begin with, we welcome what we know as spooky season. Meaning, it’s time for Halloween decor first.

While there are so many things to choose from, why not try something different and unusual? A great item that you are going to definitely want to have in your home this year to be part of your spooky decor will be a tree. Yes, a tree.

If you are also a Christmas lover, you surely know the feeling that brings putting the Christmas tree on at your living room each year. A Halloween tree not only will stand out by its own, but it’ll give you that same happy feeling that seeing a Christmas tree does.

Also, who said a tree is only for Christmas decor? If you are looking for something different to decorate your house this Halloween, this will be your best option since they are not as common as Christmas trees, but they have gained some popularity over the past several years.

And Walmart didn’t waste no time and decided to sell orangish-spooky trees, which come in different sizes, with lit and unlit lights and also are priced accordingly.

Prices are around between $80 to $300, but that will depend on the size you choose. For example, the 6.5 feet can go up to $300 and the 3 feet begin from $81. They already include LED lights.

However, a 5.5 feet tree with no lights included will cost $162. But any option is actually fine as long as you choose the one that appeals most to you.

So, it is basically like a Christmas tree, only that it is covered with lights and you can decorate it with ghosts, skeletons, pumpkins and any other scary ornament you have from previous years or even new ones. There are no rules, you will only need to follow your instincts and give it that spooky touch.

Walmart also made a delivery option available so you will only need to receive it at the comfort of your home. Therefore, a tree will give a perfect touch to your Halloween decor to be even more spooktacular than ever this year.

What are you waiting to get yours and begin the spooky season?

Annabelle Escape Was An Internet Hoax But This Real Story About The Doll Might Actually Freak You Out

Last Friday, many people freaked out over rumors of Annabelle doll escaping from the Warren Occult Museum, in Connecticut.

However, it seems everything was a misunderstanding after an interview with British actress Annabelle Wallis was published on Friday. She claimed to have convinced Tom Cruise to let her run alongside him in “The Mummy” movie, mentioning the actor usually avoids doing this with co-stars.

According to a Youtube user, the interview’s title with the actress was changed to “Annabelle escapes” when it was translated into Chinese, and caused the rumor to spread.

However, all rumors related were soon debunked as an internet hoax. After becoming a trend topic for the whole day and even after it was stated as fake news, everyone got different reactions from it.

While some people actually got scared…

Others got really confused, not knowing what was happening or just joked about the situation in general.

And some people even told about real scary stories related to the haunted doll.

Just like what happened to this guy. He posted on a Facebook page about an experience he had after visiting the Warren Occult Museum and meeting Annabelle few years ago.

My Story After Meeting Annabelle:

As some of you already know, a long time ago I went to the Warren Occult Museum to visit Lorraine and Annabelle. Although, I already told you about my experience in the museum, I never mentioned you about what came after visiting it.

At that time, I was studying in Ottawa, Canada. One day, I saw an announcement on Facebook that the doors for the Warren’s museum would be opened shortly after Halloween. I asked a Canadian friend to go with me and since he is kinda skeptical, he agreed to. We drove for about 8 hours until we reached that warm but lonesome house of Lorraine.

After a long chatting and watching the video of a real exorcism, it was time to come inside the museum, which was in the basement. Before going, Lorraine warned us not to touch any of the bewitched objects. Even if they are blessed to control their evil nature, many of them still show paranormal activity. We touched many of them by accident, including the box where Annabelle was kept by.

When I visited the museum, I was wearing a protection amulet that had been given to me. However, that night we drove to a motel in Connecticut to get some rest, when suddenly I realized that my amulet, the one I had had for years, was gone. My friend began to joke about Annabelle may have taken it and that she was going to grab my feet while sleeping but I didn’t find it funny.

The motel was a bit austere but its price was very accessible and that was enough to sleep comfortably. In the middle of the night, a scream made me wake up. When I wanted to turn the lamp on, but it didn’t work, and my friend told me that someone had grabbed his feet.

Although, I was a little scared, I had to get up to pick up my cellphone that was charging next to the television. I went to grab it and tried to turn the light on again, which to my surprise, it worked. Oddly, the lamp that I had tried to turn on before, was the one that wasn’t working.

Next day we went back to Canada, but very strange events began to happen to me. Since I was alone back there and due to my experiences I had when I was a child, I was already beginning to worry. I usually wear a rosary or a crucifix around my neck, but the crucifix that I had since I was a kid just, torned into pieces suddenly.  I replaced it and wear a rosary instead. However on the third day, it also torned into pieces. This continued to happen for weeks until I no longer had any. So, obviously I had to buy even more.

I told a friend from Monterrey, Mexico about this. She was also studying in Ottawa and told me about a colleague from Turkey of hers who could do coffee cup reading. After she introduced him to me, we agreed that we would meet in the cafeteria after class. I had had tarot readings before but never a coffee cup reading. I was surprised, when everything he read to me about my past was true.

He perfectly described scenarios and situations from my past. He even mentioned about my experience playing ouija. He said some things about my future as well. Although, there were good things coming and that I’m look forward to, there was also one thing made me uncomfortable.

Everything he said to me was very interesting. I wanted to know more about my present but said that he couldn’t tell me what he saw and asked me to trust him instead, that he would take care of what was stalking me. Before the meeting was about to end, he touch my face a little while reciting some prayers in his native language (I suppose). I thought he would charge me in exchange for that reading, but told me that his gift was not for profiting. He then waved goodbye before leaving.

After that day, I never saw him again. Not because something bad happened to him, but because that was the last day of classes. It is nearly impossible for me to see him again but I hope one day to have be lucky enough to meet him to thank what he did for me because after that, no crucifix torned into pieces again…until I started “My story with the ouija board.”

P.S. I had posted this back in 2017

What were your thoughts about the whole situation of Annabelle doll?
