Jeepers Creepers Existed! The Real Story Of The Movie Is Horrible

Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. Learn about the true story that inspired Jeepers Creepers, one of the most disturbing horror films out there.

Jeepers Creepers film

Jeepers Creepers is one of the most scary movies in horror cinema. The main character is a demon whose face is similar to a snake and wakes up every 23 years. He haunts human beings whom he chooses by their smell.

When the demon perceives a smell he likes, he won’t stop himself and eat eyes to see, ears to hear, lungs to breathe. This demon becomes immortal during his feeding period which last 23 days and everything he eats will become part of him.

The true story

A married couple used to live in the county of Michigan in 1990.  Dennis DePue was an ordinary man who loved his kindful wife. But she wasn’t that happy and after asking for a divorce, Dennis lost his mind so he took the life of his beloved wife as an act of revenge and then dumped her remains at the back of an abandoned school.

In the Jeepers Creepers film, the demon can be seen throwing the bodies of the victims behind a ruined church. There’s also a very creepy scene in the movie in which two brothers observed what the mysterious demon was doing and when he noticed them, the demon went after them.

In real life, two brothers who were road traveling, noticed how Dennis DePue was throwing his wife’s body, but weren’t cautious enough for the man not to notice them. Dennis was furious and began to go after them for several miles.

The police got involved and managed to catch him. But days later, Dennis took his life after famous television show called “Unsolved Mysteries” chose his case, remaking scenes for one of the episodes.

Ten years later, the movie Jeepers Creepers was released and used same dialogues made by the show. They even used the same scenes where the license plates of the vehicle on the road were shown. This was with the intention to give credits to the show, although director Víctor Salva never gave them openly.

No doubt, creatures, ghosts or demons that are shown in horror movies are nothing compared to the brutality that exists in real life.

Did you know Jeepers Creepers was based in real life?

The Curse of ‘The Crying Boy’ Paintings

Read about one of the scariest stories of all time, the meaning behind ‘The Crying Boy’ paintings.

There’s a story regarding the artworks known as ‘The Crying Boy’. Despite giving this nostalgic and a little creep feeling, they were so successful during the 70s and 80s and were distributed around the world.

Who were the crying boys?

Many families decorated their houses with these paintings, however they had no idea of what was behind those crying boys. It is said that these boys portrayed actually lived in orphanages or charities during the time of Second World War, that’s the reason as to why they look like suffering.

The story of the crying boys

Legend has it that the painter of these artworks known as Giovanni Bragolin, sold his soul to the Devil to guarantee the sucess of his paintings. In exchange for this pact, his work would be cursed and cause disgrace to whoever placed any of his paintings or replicas at home.

The first incident occurred in an orphanage, where Giovanni had painted one of the children and later introduced the painting to the institution. Some time later,  a fire devastated the orphanage and those who used to live there lost their lives, including the boy he painted. The most horrible thing about this tragedy was, the painting was found beneath the ashes but was completely intact and that now it carries the spirit of the child.

Between the 70s and 80s, a lot misfortunes related to these paintings began to emerge. Many tragedies started to happen in some different ways, from bad luck to death. In most cases, fires would consume houses and those who lived in them and the paintings would always remained intact from the fire as evidence.

Witnesses who have survived mentioned that paranormal activity began once they bought the paintings. The sound of wailing or laughing could be heard at nights and also the feeling of being observed by the portrayed boys anytime someone would pass in front of them.

One of the most heartbreaking testimonies was from a woman named Rose Farrington, who reported losing her three children and husband after one of the paintings.

Too many people were affected by them. Newspaper “The Sun” even asked all readers to send them any painting they had so they could be burned under the supervision of firefighters.

Pact with the Devil

Another odd story about these cursed paintings is that if you stare firmly into the eyes of the crying boys, you can make a pact with the Devil…

Head Curator Of ‘The Warren Occult Museum’ Introduces Ed And Lorraine Warren’s Daughter On Youtube

Most of us have watched  “The Conjuring”, starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, who have been part of some of the most frightening paranormal cases in history.

In ‘The Conjuring Universe’, Judy Warren is also played in the movies but until “Annabelle: Comes Home”, the girl had a major role as she was the main victim of the diabolic doll.

The Warren are well-known and there’s a lot of information about them however, anything related to Judy is barely know.  This is why her husband Tony Spera, who is also a paranormal investigator and head curator of the Warren Occult Museum -which is now closed- decided to give fans an instant view of his wife.

At the Official Ed and Lorraine Warren Channel on Youtube, Tony finally decided to introduce his “sidekick” since everyone was curious and asking of her as she hadn’t appeared in any video published before.

The video posted on August 17th, 2020, shows Judy saying hi to the camera while Tony mentioned to everyone who didn’t know about her that she’s Ed and Lorraine Warren’s daughter.

This is my wonderful wife, we’ve been married for 34 years since May 17th, 1986… but I met her in 1979 and so, we’ve been together like, well over 40 years, right? 41 or something,” said Spera while looking to Judy for assurance.

Yeah, and I’m barely that old,” Judy laughed it off.

They joked about it as Tony proceeds to mention they are inside Ed and Lorraine’s house while explaining what they were doing at their inherited house, “We are here to feed the cats, give some medication to one of the cats too”.

Moreover, Tony thanks their supporters while promising to bring Judy to be part of future videos.

I just wanted to thank all you guys for being loyal supporters and loyal youtubers and we’ll be talking to you again, I’ll try to get Judy out again and when we’re talking about other things, maybe she can give you some information too

They say one last goodbye to their fans before ending the video. We can only hope to watch future content at the Youtube channel featuring Judy to get to know her a little more and about her experiences as The Warren’s daughter.

Have You Ever Had Psychic Dreams?

Dreaming has always aroused the curiosity of scientists and by studying it, we have learned that dreams are the representation of our unconscious part. If we don’t sleep, we could not be able to comprehend or even learn. Also, if we don’t get that time for resting, we could also go crazy. However, there are many records that dreams can be more than a reflection of a person’s unconscious that show or connect us to something else. Some of them are quite common and you could have experienced one without even realizing it. They are known as psychic dreams.

Types of dreams

Psychic dreams

They are simply known as psychic dreams. It’s a kind of connection with another person that can only be reached by dreaming, like a parapsychological experience. An example could be when you dream of someone close to you who is in poor health or going through an emergency. When you wake up and later you check how that person is doing,  it turns out that he or she was actually going through something similar to your dream.

This is attributed to having a certain psychic ability to communicate with the consciousness of other people. The most common cases can be when you dream of someone and that someone dreams of you too.

Clairvoyant dreams

People who experience them tend to attribute these dreams to coincidences, but clairvoyant dreams can show us places that we will know before visiting them, events that we will carry out or even conversations that we have not yet had.

Besides from this, those with a psychic ability can experience full control of their dreams, that is, knowing that they are in a dream and doing what they want while asleep. It has also been said that through these dreams, people can talk and contact dead people.

Premonition Dreams

It may seem the same as clairvoyant dreams, but they are different. For being the ones closest to experiences and sensations, these dreams are about very specific events that are about to happen. To give an example, one of the most famous cases of these type was by Monsignor Joseph Lanyi’s dream about the death of Archduke Francis of Austria in 1914.

According to the tales, Joseph dreamt one night that he would arrive at his office in the morning to find a letter on his desk. It would be from the archduke and in it, he’d warned him that his life would be taken by a fanatic. He woke up very shocked and hours later, the archduke and his wife would be deprived of their lives in a parade. Just as it had happened in his dream.

Despite the fact that science hasn’t been able to explain these dream phenomena, it’s true that many of us have experienced these types of dreams at least once, so there must be something else in our minds that we still haven’t figure out yet.

Also known as The Conjuring 3, it’s a supernatural horror film that will serve as a sequel to 2013’s The Conjuring and 2016’s The Conjuring 2, and as the eighth installment overall in the Conjuring Universe franchise.

Premise

The premise is based on the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, also known as the “Devil Made Me Do It” case. This is one of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with the story of David Glatzel, a young boy was possessed by a demon so the family summoned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren to assist him.

After performing exorcism on David, it is said that a demon fled the child’s body and took up residence within Johnson who later would remove the life of his landlord. His case marked the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.

Cast

As for some of the main cast, Ruairi O’Connor will be playing Arne Cheyenne Johnson, Sarah Catherine Hook as Debbie Glatzel, Julian Hilliard as David Glatzel, and of course, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will come back as paranormal researchers Lorraine and Ed Warren.

Production

Director Michael Chaves (The Curse of La Llorona, 2019) was welcomed to work on this project after James Wan, who directed the previous two movies, stated that he wouldn’t be able to direct the film due to his commitments to other projects. However, Wan remained closely involved as producer.

According to THR Wan expressed in a statement about Chaves joining The Conjuring Universe, “While working closely with Chaves on ‘The Curse of La Llorona,’ I got to know him as a filmmaker. Chaves’ ability to bring emotion to a story, and his understanding of mood and scares, make him a perfect fit to direct the next Conjuring film. […] I’m excited to be back as producer and continue with Vera and Patrick on the next supernatural adventure of the Warrens.”

On the other hand, Chaves once expressed, “I am a huge fan of the Conjuring films. The movies are the rare combination that delivers both tremendous heart and awesome scares. It is both a total thrill and absolute honor to be working with James and the gang at New Line again”.

Release date

The film will be distributed by Warner Bros Pictures and New Line Cinema and while it is scheduled to premiere next September 11th, according to Variety, the horror film was delayed to June 4th, 2021 due to the spreading of coronavirus outbreak.

Most movie and television projects that were scheduled through this year, has been stopped or postponed since the global pandemic situation has brought the entire entertainment industry to a standstill.

While most sources are still counting on the movie to be released next month, it doesn’t even have an official trailer yet. So whether the release may actually get delayed -as reported- or not, the only thing to do is to wait for more information about its premiere.

First Trailer Of Upcoming Chucky TV Series Brings Back Childhood Fears!

If there’s one toy that we despised as kids and that got us all terrified, that would be Chucky.

“Child’s Play” is an American horror film created by Don Mancini, directed and co-written by Tom Holland and produced by Kirschner. It was released in 1988 about a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray, or “Chucky” who was mortally wounded after being shot in the chest by an officer. He performed a voodoo ritual to  transfer his soul into a “Good Guys” doll. He ends up with a boy named Andy as a birthday gift but needs to get his soul out of the doll before the transfer becomes permanent, and thus he tries everything to posses the little boy.

The film turned into a slasher franchise that comprises six sequels, a remake, comic books, a video game, tie-in merchandise and now, an upcoming television series is on its way.

Syfy announced at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that they had acquired the television rights to the films. The new Chucky series will have the perfect workteam consisting of producer David Kirschner (Hocus Pocus, Frailty), Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Deadwood) to voice the character and Mancini himself.

They were involved in all original seven films which it’s more likely that the television series will keep Chucky’s touch since he has remained a fixture of the horror genre and he’s still going stronger after decades.

“The character Don and David created has terrified audiences for over 30 years,” said Chris McCumber, president of Entertainment Networks USA & Syfy for NBCUniversal. “The longevity and legacy of Chucky speaks to the creative storytelling and the loyal fans the film series has collected over the years. We are excited to once again partner with Nick and UCP on this new Syfy series, and are incredibly proud to bring Chucky to television for the first time with the original creators.”

Mancini told Syfy. “From film to film, I’ve always tried to create a different tone, plug Chucky into a different subgenre. We’ve gone from straightforward slasher to comedy to crazy satirical comedy and back to straightforward horror again.”

The official description for the series reads: “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”

Mancini also revealed to  SYFY WIRE, “With this TV show, our mission has been to preserve the straightforward scariness of the original film or the first couple of films. But at the same time, continue on with this ever-expanding tapestry of consistent story that we’ve spun over the course of seven movies and 30-some years. I think fans are really gonna love to see the new characters that we introduce into this realm and just to see how they came off of our classic characters. Not just Chucky, but some of the others that you may be hoping to see. There’s a good chance they may turn up.”

He continued, “It’s so important to give Chucky new weapons, new strategies, and new targets, new goals … Chucky has a different goal in the TV show than he’s ever had before, and it’s specifically something that is designed to evoke something that’s going on in the zeitgeist today.”

The series premieres on both SYFY and USA Network in 2021. You can see the first Chucky TV series trailer below.

A New Horror Anthology Series Just Hit On Netflix

“When night falls on this city, shadows and spirits come alive in this horror anthology series focused on urban legends”.

This is how Netflix describes this new horror anthology series from South Korea titled “Goedam” (Also known as “Ghost Story”).

The first season was released last August 20th with 8 episodes titled as followed: Crack, Destination, Special Guest,  Curiosity, Red Shoes, Dimension, Threshold, Birth. They have an average duration of 5-6 minutes each.

The series directed by Hong Won-ki, features ghost stories and urban legends, starring SEOLA, Song Chae-yun, Lee Hyun-joo, Han Ga-rim, Shim So-young.

The episodes are so short, it’ll take you less than an hour so you may want to watch them all-in-once. Likewise, the special effects, the acting and the stories are also very well done.

You may be or not familiar to some of the urban legends that are shown in “Goedam” but are easy to follow-up. The episodes tell stories such as the ghost of a young woman who stops a taxi, the elevator’s challenge which will take you to another dimension if you know the right combination of numbers, a talisman in a room that should not be removed to protect you from evil spirits and more.

All episodes are entertaining and not a single one really falls through and since the episodes don’t last that long, it’s a good option if you are looking for something scary to watch at any moment.

Hopefully, Netflix will bet on a second season to share some more urban legends and ghost stories.

As for now, you really should watch this new addition!
